Market FAQ
The Market tab helps you find tokens across networks, follow them in your Watchlist, set price alerts, and follow large moves on the blockchain. It shows information: it doesn't hold your crypto or give investment advice. Your NFTs are on the Wallet tab: see the NFT FAQ.
Why can't I open Market?
Market needs an internet connection and a wallet that has an EVM network, such as Ethereum or BNB Chain.
- Offline, Market shows The cold wallet is currently unable to access this feature., even for a wallet that isn't a cold wallet. Check your connection.
- A wallet with no EVM network, such as one with only Bitcoin, can't use Market. Switch to a wallet that has one.
Can I trust a token because it's in Market?
No. A token being listed, searchable, in a list such as top gainers or trending, in a narrative (a theme that groups tokens) or in a Market Feed card doesn't mean FxWallet endorses it or that it's safe. Scammers create tokens with the same name and logo as real ones, so check the contract address on the project's official website before you buy or add a token. See Check a token before you buy it and Fake tokens, spam airdrops and trading scams.
Why can't I find a token?
FxWallet may not support its network, or there may be no market data for it yet. Search by its name or symbol: Market doesn't search by contract address. To hold a token that Market doesn't list, add it to your wallet with its contract address: see Add a custom token.
Why is a price different from other sites?
Market data comes from FxWallet's data sources and can lag a little, so a price may differ slightly from an exchange or another site.
How do the Watchlist and price alerts work?
- Tap the star next to a token, or at the top of its page, to add it to your Watchlist. A token on several networks has an entry for each network. The Watchlist has a limit.
- Tap the bell on a token's page to set a price alert: choose Above or Below, enter the price, then tap Create Alert.
- An alert notifies you once, when the price reaches your target, and then moves to Triggered. You can't edit an alert: cancel it and create a new one.
- Alerts belong to the wallet that set them. Tapping an alert's notification switches FxWallet to that wallet.
- Alerts need notifications: go to Me → System Notification and turn on Price Alerts under Market.
Why didn't I get a price alert?
Check the alert in Price Alerts first: an alert goes off only once, needs notifications on, and can miss a price that touches your target only briefly. See Why didn't my price alert go off?
Why is my Watchlist empty?
Your Watchlist, price alerts and watched addresses belong to the wallet you're using, and FxWallet stores them online, not in your wallet's backup. Each wallet has its own lists, and after you reinstall FxWallet or restore your wallet on a new phone, they start empty.
What are on-chain signals?
On-chain Signals, behind the trend icon at the top of the Market tab, shows recent moves on the blockchain:
- Whale: a large buy or sale by a whale, an address known for trading large amounts. Plain transfers don't count.
- Watched Address: buys, sales and transfers by addresses you watch, small ones included.
A signal can appear a few minutes after the trade. Signals are information, not advice: a whale may be an exchange or a market maker, and its move doesn't tell you where a price will go.
Can I follow an address?
Yes. Tap the eye icon at the top of the Market tab to open Watched Addresses, tap +, choose the network and enter the address. Its moves then appear in On-chain Signals. To stop watching an address, long-press it and tap Remove.
- Only the networks in the list can be watched.
- The count on Watched Addresses shows how many addresses you watch and how many you can.
- Adding an address you already watch shows Already in your watchlist.
- Watching an address gives you no control over it, and its moves don't send push notifications.
What do Risk Assessment and Approval Status on a token's page mean?
Risk Assessment is an automated check of the token by GoPlus, a third-party security service. It can miss a scam. If a token's page has no Risk Assessment, or it says Unknown, FxWallet has no risk data for the token, which doesn't make it safe. See Check a token before you buy it.
Approval Status lists the contracts you've allowed to spend this token. Revoking one is a transaction with a network fee. See Token approvals.
What do Deviation alert and Severe depeg in Peg Monitor mean?
Peg Monitor, on the page of a stablecoin or a liquid staking token, compares its price with what it's meant to be worth: $1 for a dollar stablecoin, or its exchange rate in ETH for a liquid staking token. Deviation alert means the price has fallen noticeably below that value, and Severe depeg that it has fallen well below. A price above it doesn't count.
The status describes the market price. It doesn't change how many tokens you hold, and nobody can tell you whether the price will recover. Check the issuer's official announcements before you decide. If you swap during a depeg, trading pools can be thin, so check the price impact first: see Price impact.
What are Yield Opportunities?
Yield Opportunities lists pools on other platforms that pay yield on the token, as reported by DeFiLlama, a third-party data site: Data from DeFiLlama, updated daily. Not investment advice. They aren't FxWallet Earn products. View pool details on DeFiLlama opens DeFiLlama in the DApp browser, where your wallet can connect to the sites you go on to, such as the pool's own site.
FxWallet doesn't check these pools or the sites they link to. Depositing in a pool means trusting a third-party DApp with your tokens, and a high APY usually comes with a higher risk. Check the site and everything you sign: see Use DApps safely.
Can I buy or sell from Market?
Yes, through Swap. When a token can be swapped in your current wallet, its page has Buy and Sell, which open Swap with the tokens filled in. Before you tap Buy, see Check a token before you buy it. Check the tokens, the network and the amount in Swap before you confirm. A swap costs a network fee.
